After growing for fifteen years the agave plant is ready to flower. When conditions are just right the agave spends all it’s reserves on flowering and then dies. At optimal ripeness these wild desert buds are picked and pickled for your enjoyment. Use as a cocktail snack, in salads, stews or as a pizza topping and enjoy natural goodness from the Karoo.
